Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! My name is Mrs. Nicole Irvine and I will be your child’s ESL teacher this school year. As I will be learning a great deal about your child over the upcoming school year, I wanted to take some time and introduce myself. I graduated from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in science, and I also have a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in English as a Second Language. This is my fifth year teaching ESL, and my fourteenth year in the district, so I am very familiar with the curriculum and students. Through this experience, I have grown to love the district and everything it has to offer its students. I have developed a love for teaching over the years through tutoring and helping a younger sibling. I was also the Junior Varsity Coach for the Girls’ and Boys’ Tennis Teams for many years, so I have been involved in all aspects of the district. I am overjoyed to be able to help your child succeed and achieve his or her own personal goals this school year.
I believe parental support and involvement are key components to a successful classroom. As a result, please look for emails, notes, or important letters that are sent to provide you with updates on your child's progress. I welcome ideas, questions, and comments because I believe that nothing can be achieved if the teacher and parents are not working together.
